Plants

Hemp oil and CBD oil come from the same family of plants, Cannabis Sativa. Both products are low in THC (the psychoactive compound in marijuana).  But Hemp oil  is generally considered to be derived solely from the hemp plant and contains many other compounds.  CBD Oil on the other hand may be derived from other plants in the Cannabis family, but is generally a more refined product, removing many other compounds, including THC.  Removal of these compounds means CBD has less of an "earthy" flavor, is not psychoactive and does not produce a "high". Tropical Hemp Company only sells CBD products derived solely from the hemp plant.

Uses

Hemp oil and CBD oil also have different uses. Hemp oil is most commonly used for its nutritional value, as it is rich in essential fatty acids and minerals. On the other hand, many people take CBD oil because they find they enjoy its effects.

Side Effects

Hemp oil and CBD oil also have different side effects. Hemp oil is generally considered safe, with no known side effects. CBD oil, on the other hand, may cause side effects, including dry mouth, diarrhea, and fatigue. It is important to talk to your doctor before taking CBD oil if you have any concerns

Regulation

Finally, hemp oil and CBD oil are regulated differently. Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states, while CBD oil is not. CBD oil is generally legal in states that have legalized medical or recreational marijuana use.  CBD oil derived specifically derived from the hemp plant is legal in more states. (Tropical Hemp Company only sells CBD products derived from the hemp plant.) If you're interested in trying CBD oil, be sure to check your state's laws first.
